Since yesterday, Wieferich cannot seem to connect to the server anymore. It has all tests completed, but just sits there. I tried a re-install, but that hangs at the registration screen after I fill in all the fields and press OK. (apparently a connection issue as well).

I tried turning off firewall, to no avail. Only thing I can think of is that yesterday I installed IE8. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?

My setup is Vista Ultimate 64 on an I7 920.

I think Wieferich client uses Internet connection settings from Internet Explorer. So check these settings [proxy etc...] or Internet settings in Control Panels.

Thanks for the suggestion. Checked that, no odd settings there. Also IE is perfectly able to browse sites, including elmath.org....

I ran a network trace, and there is no network traffic whatsoever when starting the client  Huh

Client doesn't work after installation Internet Explorer 8. Working at a new version, which will fix this problem.

Id thought id give you my experience installing the latest beta 2.1.0.13

I've installed 2.1.0.13 over an existing 2.0.7.1 installation using the multicore launcher version.
Everything seems to work fine (the new installation resumed the calculation where the old version left off) and seems te be quicker  Smiley
The traffic lights on all four clients show green.
Only one problem: The client does not show my cpu type (it says Unknown).
The old client reported EM64T Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 7 2666 MHz (Which I think is the correct ID)
The output from chkcpu32 is correct (see bellow)

CPU: Intel Q9450 on original clock speed
OS: Win XP (64 bits)
IE: Version 6 (I normaly use firefox latest version 3.5)
Mem: 4GB of DDRII RAM @1066MHz

CHKCPU32.exe output:

Hi BaDu,

Thanks for your report. I tried the same on my Athlon64 X2 Dual-Core Vista SP2 (32-bit) system and also got the CPU >>> Unknown indication in the client after upgrading v2.0.7.1 to v2.1.0.13 beta.
Only after v2.1.0.13 finished the work and requests new work, then the correct CPU type is shown.

Unfortunately, v2.1.0.13 beta doesn't work on my system and no new work is started. There still seems to be an interface problem between my Chkcpu32 util and the multi-core launcher.exe on specific systems.  Embarrassed
I have now made a new Chkcpu32 v2.05 final with XML-mode available to help Jan Dobes in solving this interface issue.

I think v2.1.0.10 beta is presently the most stable W@H client for multi-core CPUs and works great here on all Windows versions, including Win7 RC (64-bit).
I see you are running this version now and my advise is to keep this version until v2.1.0.14 beta is out.  Wink

Greetings, Jan.

My DI-710 was workable on windows XP properly but its now impossible because the WinDQA does not support Windows 7. How do I do?

Hey guys,

So I just replaced the hard drive on a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5049 and installed Windows 7 64 bit.  For the life of me I cannot get the windows update service to work.  It says windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running...but it is running according to the services list in msconfig.  I have tried everything I can think of and want to take a sledge hammer to this laptop.  Any ideas?
